Supervisor of Parent Peer Support 

Description

Purpose:

The Supervisor of Parent Peer Support will be responsible for managing a team of parent peer support specialists who provide guidance, emotional support, and resource navigation for parents facing various challenges. This role will ensure that the team delivers high-quality services while meeting the needs of families and adhering to organizational policies and state regulations. The Supervisor will lead by example, demonstrating strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, while maintaining a parent-centered approach to service delivery.

Accountabilities:

Leadership & Oversight:

  • Supervise and provide ongoing support to the parent peer support team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Develop work schedules, assign cases, and manage workloads to ensure that services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings with staff to discuss case progress, challenges, and professional development.

 

Program Management:

  • Ensure that all services provided by peer support specialists align with organizational goals, program objectives, and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of parent peer support services, using feedback and data to implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to strengthen family support networks.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by staying informed of best practices in peer support, family services, and child welfare.

 

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure that all staff maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes, in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Participate in audits, program evaluations, and other quality assurance processes to ensure program fidelity and accountability.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as a liaison between the parent peer support team and external stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, community events, and outreach efforts to promote peer support services.

 

Qualifications:

  • Will possess the minimum qualifications as documented in the Kansas Case Management Program Standards for Children and Adolescents (on file).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, community agencies and clients.
  • Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
  • Familiarity with mental health theory and practice.
  • Meet or be willing to meet the minimum qualifications of a Wrap Around facilitator/Case Manager.
  • Must be able to safely perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the human services field, with emphasis preferably in social work, psychology, rehabilitation or related field, preferred.
  • Experience will be considered for high school graduates with 4 years of experience working with children.
  • Familiarity with mental health theory, emerging promising practices, and evidence-based practice.
