Description

Athletics is responsible for the operation of fifteen athletic teams and competes as a member of the National Christian College Athletics Association. The Athletic Director oversees the overall operation of the department including budgets, compliance, adherence to university policies, hiring and evaluation of coaches, program recruitment to meet roster minimums and admissions goals, student retention, social and physical development of athletes, intercollegiate competition, off-field activities such as community service, fund-raising, and alumni support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hire, evaluate, and mentor Coaches and other athletic staff
  • Build a culture of excellence, sportsmanship and Christian character
  • Work with admission and coaches to recruit and maintain sufficient rosters
  • Grow and develop teams and facilities
  • Oversee departmental and individual sport budgets
  • Promote fund-raising in cooperation with the Office of Strategic Development
  • Reinforce institutional policies including academic and conduct expectations
  • Assure compliance with NCCAA standards and expectations
  • Promote the athletic department and raise its visibility in the community and region
  • Serve as the athletic department's main liaison with various constituents

 

QUALIFICATIONS


According to Ohio Christian University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university
  • Five to ten years of coaching and administrative experience at the collegiate level
  • Experience developing and implementing assessment plan for athletics or related area
  • Familiarity with NCCAA athletics
  • Successful managerial or supervisory experience in atheltics
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains a deep Christian faith and life of integrity
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates positive and encouraging attitude and a vision for excellence in sports
  • Able to effectively communicate with internal and external constituencies
  • May require evening, weekend, or overnight out-of-town travel
