Responsibilities

  • Perform bench-level mechanical inspections in a shop environment.   
  • Inspect mechanical piece parts and assemblies for dimensional and structural conformance within tolerances.
  • Inspect mechanical piece parts and assemblies for proper markings, chemical finishings, and workmanship. 
  • Ability to prepare first article inspection reports and fill out non-conformance reports. 
  • Ability to perform inspections of installed components, systems, and fasteners on aircraft, ship, or in government facilities. 
  • Operate within an ISO 9001 / AS9100D Certified Quality Management System.
 
Position Requirements

 

  • Degree: High School
  • Yrs. of Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as inspector of mechanical hardware in military systems.  Substitute minimum 1 year experience as inspector plus 5 years of mechanical technician or machinist experience.
  • Must be able to read engineering, drawings and hardware parts lists with a basic understanding of ASTM Y14.5 GD&T Standards and AWS 2.4 weld symbology.
  • Must be able to operate standard mechanical inspection hand tools and gauges.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and perform data entry into MRP and NCR Databases.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficient in the use of dimensional measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, hole, thread, and height gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Familiarity or inspector certification in AWS D1.1M, D1.2M, D17.1, or commercial welding standards is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the NAVAIR, NAVSEA, or AF tech manuals, structural repair manuals, mil-spec fasteners, and fastener inspection criteria is a plus.
 
Salary Range $22.00-$28.85/per hour and will commensurate with experience  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Level of Clearance Required Secret Eligible
