Fundraising Events Department Coordinator

Position Objective:

To coordinate PETA's fundraising events  

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by PETA:

o Organize and attend cultivation, retention, and solicitation events at PETA's request for PETA members and supporters

o Keep events on schedule using the event timeline and track tasks to ensure that deadlines are met

o Oversee the production of event materials, mailings, and additional event components for presentation to and approval for use by PETA

o Establish and maintain good communication and relationships with PETA donors and individuals at all levels of PETA and the PETA Foundation

o Negotiate with event vendors to ensure the best possible value

o Manage event RSVPs using PETA's donor database and other tracking documents

o Manage event inventory and the shipping, receiving, and storage of event supplies

o Recruit and manage volunteers at PETA events

o Field phone calls and e-mails from PETA donors and answer questions related to events and donations

• Collect and maintain event data, including costs, revenue, and PETA donor information

• Provide additional support  for events and assist the department manager and director as needed

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

 

 
 
Position Requirements

• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of three years of event-coordinating or related experience

• Proven ability to maintain professional working relationships

•Proven leadership skills

•Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team

•Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle

•Ability and willingness to travel

•Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

•Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record

•Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues

• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
