Measurement Incorporated (MI) is seeking teachers from California to fill the temporary positions of Readers/Evaluators during the upcoming scoring season. 

California teachers will score Smarter Balanced and CAASPP student responses. The hiring process will take place from early January 2025 and run through March of 2025 for assignments starting in late March and ending in June. If you are hired as a Reader/Evaluator, you will be placed into our qualified reader pool. You will be eligible to work on the portions of the CAASPP and Smarter Balanced project (i.e., Brief Writes, Math, or Research).

Position Requirements: 

  • Certified to teach in California.
  • Reside in California.
  • Access to:
    • a home computer or laptop that meets our technical specifications.
      • Check specs: HERE.
    • password protected high speed internet access.
    • a secure work area.

All Applicants:

  • The base pay rate for a California Educator is $20.00 per hour.  
  • Flexible day and evening hours are available for most work assignments. Available workdays and times will be provided when a job offer for a specific project is extended to you.
  • Measurement Incorporated requires all seasonal staff to have a completed Form I-9 on file. In many cases, a completed Form I-9 with a verified start date is good for three years but there are exceptions. For specific information about our Form I-9 process we encourage you to visit our Form I-9 Knowledge Book.
  • Seasonal employees will be asked to set up a direct deposit account. If a direct deposit account is not set up, pay cards will be issued. Live checks will no longer be distributed.
  • Payments are made every other Friday for the preceding two-week pay period.
