Position Summary:
The Lead Safe Homes Coordinator oversees the Safe Homes Strong Communities program, ensuring it aligns with the agency's goals. They supervise Service Coordinators, provide training, and monitor compliance. Working closely with the Safe Homes Manager, they ensure consistent, quality services for victims of intimate partner/sexual violence. The Lead also handles crisis intervention, safety planning, and support system development, using trauma expertise in a voluntary services model. They build relationships with HRM programs, external stakeholders, and diverse backgrounds to ensure smooth service delivery.
Standard Schedule:
The position operates Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and is based at the Argonne Drive campus in Baltimore City. This role is on-site with the potential of being hybrid, with three days in the office and two days working from home or in the community. Travel within Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County may be required up to 20% of the time. They are expected to be flexible in adjusting their schedules to accommodate essential tasks such as conducting home inspections and meeting with participants who have scheduling conflicts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision, staff performance evaluations and performance improvement plans.
- Organizes, develops, motivates, coaches, and supports the team by providing organizational structure and individual and team supervision
- Conducts weekly one-on-one or team meetings with direct reports to provide guidance and feedback.
- Assigns participants to Service Coordinators based on workload, program goals, and availability.
- Monitors service quality through file reviews, attendance records, and service plan evaluations, ensuring staff proficiency in data entry software.
- Provides comprehensive services coordination for a caseload of approximately 8-10 participants, assessing eligibility and creating service plans.
- Guides participants to enhance self-sufficiency, safety, and domestic violence awareness, advocating on their behalf when necessary.
- Maintains accurate participant files and program documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and monitoring resource materials.
- Coordinates participant access to agency and community services, organizing team meetings as needed.
- Conducts home visits in safe environments and participates in Victim Coordinated Entry and client transition meetings.

Pay range: $48,000 - $58,000
Authority:
- Approve time off requests and bi- weekly timesheets of assigned staff.
- With Manager approval, provides content for and executes training of new and current staff on engagement, services coordination, advocacy, and intimate partner violence knowledge skills.
- Signs off on Service Coordinator request for emergency funds up to $750 and Safe Homes participant’s rental assistance plans.
- Cultivates relationships with area service providers and landlords; represents the agency in collaborative work and at events.
Accountability/ Measures of Success:
- Staff, participants, and interns are warmly welcomed and equipped with essential tools for success, including contact information, resource accessibility, and clear activity instructions.
- New hires receive comprehensive orientation to internal and external resources and processes, ensuring rapid integration into roles.
- Program procedures are executed consistently, prioritizing compassion towards participants and maintaining clarity in communicating objectives.
- All staff consistently meet program quality and service targets, including caseload performance standards, and adhere to deadlines for data entry and report submissions.
- Material goods and financial assistance are distributed to participants as outlined, accompanied by appropriate documentation to justify expenditures.
Experience/ Requirements:
- One year experience supervising paid or unpaid staff positions.
- Three years’ experience providing counseling, case management, or victim centered advocacy. Associate degree in Human Services field may substitute for one year experience.
- Proficiency in using software to track participant progress and data.
- Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills with a strong ability to relate to a diverse range of individuals including victims, children, donors, business leaders, and human service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to provide the leadership that enables staff to consistently meet goals.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and timelines.
- Clean driving record, current state driver’s license, and reliable personal transportation.
- Must pass Criminal Background Check.
Highly Preferred Skills:
- At least one-year experience must be providing direct service to traumatized individuals who have experienced violence.
- Applicants must be able to confidently work with a population that has a history of trauma.
- Ability to understand intimate partner violence and how it affects the client population and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of local human services programs/ agencies and housing resources.
