Abilities and Knowledge
Proven outside sales experience required, A background in Real Estate and or Insurance sales preferred.
Position is based out of Panama City, with travel outside of the area.
1. Must have the ability to sell, i.e. to convince people to give to Goodwill. Must have a commitment to achieving results and to attaining and surpassing goals.
2. Able to travel daily through the service area of Goodwill Industries on a regular basis using personal transportation.
3. Must be able to keep detailed, legible records and generate accurate and timely reports and correspondence.
4. Ability to analyze information for the purpose of making data based decisions concerning donors and site locations.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with the ability to create written and oral presentations for sales calls.
6. Good organization and computer skills
7. Must be able to overcome rejection and indifference; moderate, occasional short deadlines requiring some overtime; work environment occasionally hectic with occasional periods of high stress.
8. Knowledge and ability to research all options in the implementation of new business models
9. After researching new business models have the ability to produce the desired results to diversify revenue and operations.
10. Must have knowledge of and commitment to the mission, programs and goals of Goodwill Industries.
11. The knowledge to assure that all commercial donations pose no safety hazards
12. Have the ability, knowledge and proven Management e x p e r i e n c e .
Skills:
1. Demonstrated willingness to “cold call” businesses for donations.
2. Demonstrated ability to produce results to “cold calls”.
3. To learn the Goodwill mission and goals.
4. Ability to work with little supervision
5. Application of Goodwill policies and procedures.
General Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
1. Some time spent traveling within Goodwill territory by automobile.
2. Some time spent at work locations of donor businesses.
3. Office and general duties at least one day per week.
4. Lifting, carrying heavy items; stooping, stretching and bending required.
5. Must make a professional conservative appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
6. Must be able to access local businesses.
Qualifications: 1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of business, communications or a related area.
2. At least five years successful experience in the field of sales and/or business management.
3. The ideal staffer will know the leaders of our base area community and be known by them, have extensive experience in direct sales and be familiar with the donated goods operation of a Goodwill Industries and be an enthusiastic ambassador for Goodwill in the community. 4. Valid Florida driver license, class c or e, with acceptable driving record for insurability by company’s insurance carrier and dependable transportation.
