The Senior Associate collaborates with internal teams and external partners to further develop OFN’s grant management system capabilities to respond to programmatic needs, support integration with internal systems like Salesforce, and support other enterprise systems as needs arise. This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

Software Administration

  • Administer and assist in overseeing software that supports the growth of OFN, including the allocation and monitoring of grant awards, ensuring that it meets all operational and compliance requirements.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access levels to maintain system security and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize disruption to grant management processes.

Collaboration and Development

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to design and implement applications and evaluation frameworks for upcoming grant funding rounds.

  • Work closely with software providers to build and test custom integrations with Salesforce and other internal systems, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization.

  • Partner with software providers to design and implement automated workflows, system enhancements, and user-friendly interfaces that streamline processes and improve data accuracy.

  • Engage in continuous dialogue with stakeholders to identify emerging needs and ensure the system evolves in line with organizational goals.

Process Mapping and Optimization

  • Assist in conducting detailed process mapping to visualize and analyze enterprise and programmatic workflows to inform software selection, development, and implementation.

  • Identify and implement optimized processes to enhance system performance.

  • Continuously monitor and refine processes to respond to program changes and improve system efficiency.

System Enhancements and Automation

  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and lead the development of enhancements in collaboration with the team and software providers.

  • Work with the SVP, Software Implementation Unit on designing and implementing automated processes within various software to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.

  • Ensure all enhancements and automation align with best practices and are thoroughly tested before deployment.

User Training and Support

  • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to internal users, ensuring proficiency in using software for grant management and other initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and documentation to consistently apply best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Act as the primary internal point of contact for grant management system user inquiries and technical support.

  • Foster an internal user community where users can share tips, resources, and troubleshooting advice.

Data Integrity and Compliance

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within various software.

  • Work with compliance teams and conduct regular audits and resolve discrepancies, ensuring full compliance with OFN policies, grant guidelines, and federal regulations.

  • Assist in implementing data backup and recovery procedures to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate, analyze, and distribute reports to provide insights that support the effective management of the grant award.

  • Assist in developing custom reports as needed to meet the reporting requirements of the OFN leadership and other internal and external stakeholders.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field or 5-7 years direct work experience in lieu of a degree. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, etc.) is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in software administration, ideally in grant management or similar systems.

  • Experience working in nonprofit environment, financial services, or clean energy sectors preferred.

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

  • Understanding of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.

  • Strong understanding of data integration, system security, user management, and process mapping.

  • Demonstrated experience creating automated workflows, process maps, and system enhancements.

  • Proficiency in Submittable, Salesforce, and other relevant tools is desirable.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically and creatively.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and driving results.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

  • Advanced understanding of computer systems, networks, and security.

  • Strong understanding of analytics, reporting, and dashboard creation.

  • Strong knowledge of process reengineering techniques, including process mapping and evaluating current and future state processes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder identification skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with a diverse audience and building relationships across the organization.

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently as well as the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines under pressure without sacrificing quality.

  • Advanced digital literacy in workplace technology solutions.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams across OFN.

  • Some travel required (<5% of time).

  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.

The salary range for this role is $68,300 to $123,500.

Salaries paid at Opportunity Finance Network will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the position level.
