Description

Summary

Produce a good product and process while meeting the customer's expectation. Cut cost and scarp through preventative action and continuous improvement activities. Follows all IATF 16949 procedures and work duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop an understanding of our process / equipment capabilities.
  • Analyze / summarize collected data for continuous improvement opportunities / enhanced process capabilities.
  • Oversee / develop projects to improve our process / equipment statistical capabilities.
  • Participates in new product feasibility reviews with a focus on the processes required to produce the part based on our (and our secondary's) statistical process capabilities.
  • Develops an understanding of customer specific requirements.
  • Develop in VA / VE activities with customer engineering.
  • Instrumental in the development and collaboration of the APQP documentation preparation for the PPAP submission.
  • Develops Process Routings in Plex.
  • Interacts with customers and or suppliers on issues or concerns.
  • Utilize Plex document control system.
  • Leads in troubleshooting/root cause analysis activity to reduce problem occurrences and increase detection.
  • Assists with production issues using data analysis process monitoring skills.
  • Develops and participates in scrap and cost reduction activities.
  • Develops and participates in preventive and corrective actions.
  • Leads / develops continuous improvement activities.
  • Participates in the development of gauge measurement methods where GD&T is utilized.
 
Position Requirements

Skills Necessary

  • Oversee the Quality Management System and maintain company quality standards to ISO9001: 2015.
  • Oversee and participate in New Product Development samples on production floor.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data for first article inspection and new product launches.
  • Create documents including process flows, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and fix situations when processes indicate lack of control.
  • Collect and analyze data to establish quality controls.
  • Own MRB and disposition of product.
  • Investigate and implement corrective actions, and ensure they are executed.
  • Seek out improvement opportunities to established processes based on gathered data.
  • Review customer drawings and specifications for feasibility.
  • Assist in supplier development.
  • Train and develop new operators.
  • Engage in hands on problem solving.
  • Perform all manufacturing position activities when required.
  • Be available for customer visits, when required.
  • Does not directly supervisor any employees; however, is responsible for the training and development of new employees as it relates to the process of the products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as multi-task.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the managers and our customers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or managers and employees of organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in an Engineering field with relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field is preferred
