WHAT YOU'LL DO

As our Estimator, you are responsible for material takeoff of a blueprint with the intent to give clients an accurate cost estimate. You have a passion for attention to detail: you are thorough, accurate, and organized.

THE NITTY GRITTY

The people things:

  • You are friendly and professional, responding quickly to customer and team member needs
  • Communicate with peers, customers, and vendors respectfully, honestly, and openly

The Estimator things:

  • Working with sales staff and customers to help complete accurate cost estimates
  • Provide material takeoffs for commercial, residential, and industrial projects
  • Manage multiple project schedules
  • Work to ensure deadlines and schedules are met
  • Communicate with the Department Heads on specifications and Blueprints
  • Fully understand the fabricating and installation process of the products offered
  • Takeoffs, blueprints, engineering skills - ability to calculate the loads on beams and headers

WHAT YOU NEED

Interpersonal Skills:

  • A strong steward of Mans culture and core values
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills: ability to communicate with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to work in a team environment to meet and complete company goals and objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • Previous building industry experience and knowledge is a must
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to computer software: understanding of computer based estimating tools
  • Read and interpret project and specifications to produce quality material estimates and pricing
  • Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic math skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines (well, not really fax machines).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some daily active movement is required. This role also requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with schedule flexibility.
