SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Director of Residential and Behavior Services, the Betty's Village Supervisor is responsible for managing daily concierge services and ensuring a high standard of resident care. This role includes overseeing community activities and events, connecting residents to essential community resources, and fostering a welcoming environment. The Supervisor works closely with Property Management to review and approve resident applications, ensuring all prospective residents meet the Betty's Village (BV) community criteria. Additionally, the Supervisor addresses resident concerns and complaints, promoting a positive and inclusive living experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual and or physical disabilities.
  2. In compliance with Opportunity Village, federal, state, and local regulations, ensures Betty's Village is managed in a manner that promotes residents satisfaction.
  3. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing Standards.
  4. Update monthly interest list for Opportunity Village Risk Management.
  5. Provide tours and information about Betty's Village to prospective residents and interested parties.
  6. Initiate interest and formal application process for prospective residents through the property management web portal.
  7. Review all completed applications with Property Management.
  8. Prepare and present information to the Resident Relations Committee (RRC) for review about approving new applications, lease renewals, and major incidents.
  9. Assist residents in adapting to BV and using community amenities.
  10. Assist Property Management with annual unit inspections and ensure units are move in ready.
  11. Hire, supervise, train, and develop Life Enrichment Coordinators.
  12. Ensure community safety and security goals are met and maintained.
  13. Evaluate community activities for residents.
  14. Participate in Resident Council meetings.
  15. Provide information to residents regarding Supported Living Arrangement (SLA) providers, and Desert Regional Center (DRC) services, and other community resources as requested.
  16. Ensure the creation and circulation of a monthly activity calendar to all residents.
  17. Develop community partners that provide recreational and entertainment activities for BV residents.
  18. Communicate effectively with residents, family guarantours, property managers, Desert Regional Center, and OV management regarding the application and lease process.
  19. Communicate with and maintain positive relationships with community partners.
  20. Complete paperwork, as necessary, to meet Opportunity Village, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  21. Must be able to travel between worksite locations and community.
  22. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
  23. May be assigned other duties as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position oversees the work of Life Enrichment Coordinators (LEC).

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, program participants, team members, and supervisors (verbally and in writing)
  • Knowledge of computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to care, respond, and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to resolve multiple complex issues simultaneously while remaining calm in stressful situations
  • High energy, positive and enthusiastic outlook.
  • Self-directed, with strong ability to work independently, and to set and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to set priorities, follow through to completion of tasks, work well under pressure, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required:
  • Associate's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Or

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with three years' work experience in a related field.
  • Required: Minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory role.
  • Required: Current CPI certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Required: Current CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in residential or supportive housing programs, preferably in property management or apartment complex operations.
  • Preferred: Previous experience managing housing programs tailored for people with disabilities.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with HUD regulations (if federally subsidized housing is involved).
