Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor needed for full-time position in Berks County.
The Counselor is responsible for providing integrated care that addresses both behavioral and physical health needs of clients. This includes conducting screenings, assessments, and evaluations and offering individual, group, and family counseling either at the main office or school setting. The counselor develops comprehensive, personalized treatment plans and ensures all clinical documentation meets compliance, medical necessity, and agency standards.
The role requires maintaining direct service hours, participating in individual supervision and team meetings, and collaborating with psychiatrists to support clients' medication management needs. Community outreach and networking are part of the job and attending staff and community meetings. The counselor must keep current credentials, participate in ongoing training, and stay updated with clinical documentation and reporting. Additionally, the counselor will work with other treatment staff and case managers to coordinate care, promote wellness, and meet all insurance and funding source requirements. Crisis coverage and supervision of licensure candidates are also part of the role. Incorporating trauma-informed care and being an active member of the Counseling Center's culture are essential duties.

PA LCSW license is required, along with experience in mental health or substance abuse counseling. Preference is given to candidates with experience in trauma-informed care and working with adolescents. The position requires strong skills in assessment, documentation, problem-solving, communication, and the use of electronic health records (EHR). Familiarity with the needs of low-income, high-risk populations and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are also essential. |
