CLINICAL SUPERVISION FOR LICENSURE PROVIDED

Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Emergency Services Crisis Supports Team. Under the direction of the ES Program Supervisor, The Emergency Services Crisis Supports Clinician provides crisis intervention/prescreening services within a Team of highly qualified Clinicians.

Essential Functions

  • Completes crisis supports/stabilization intakes including initial screening and brief treatment using therapeutic techniques appropriate to the client and problem.
  • Responds to crisis situations for which hospitalization is not requested or appropriate and provides crisis stabilization and/or referral to appropriate services.
  • Assist in Judicial Process including attending commitment hearings, MOT and NGRI process.
  • Completes pre-admission screenings for psychiatric and substance abuse hospitalizations.
  • Responds to crisis calls within 15 minutes and other calls within a 24-hour period. Responds to Face to Face ECO/TDO requests within a 2-hour period.
  • Determines least restrictive level of care, to include involuntary or voluntary hospitalization, crisis stabilization services, and/or outpatient follow-up.
  • Determines whether individual meets involuntary commitment requirements.

Minimum Requirements

All applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered qualified for the position:

  • A master’s degree with major course of study in Human Services acceptable by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a sufficient degree to allow licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Virginia license as a Registered Nurse and 36 months professional work experience with psychiatric population.
  • Valid Va. driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must currently be or be eligible to become a Virginia Certified Prescreener and Community Stabilization Provider.

Preferred Qualification

The most competitive candidates will have one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Currently licensed as an LPC, LCSW, or similar credential.
  • Currently certified as a Prescreener or Community Stabilization Provider in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Previous experience working in mental health or substance use treatment.
