SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Events Operation Manager, the Magical Forest General Laborer is responsible for general duties involving the physical handling of products, materials, supplies, and equipment. This position is also responsible for the general maintenance of The Magical Forest, installation and general repairs, and installation and maintenance of displays and lighting. There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours.

There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours. This is a seasonal position through the months of September 2024 – January 2025 utilized to support the Magical Forest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements.

Operate industrial power equipment as well as electric and conventional hand tools.

Restock and replenish supplies as appropriate.

Perform general maintenance, i.e., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, mechanical systems, and landscaping.

Responsible for preventive maintenance of the Magical Forest.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

Assist with hanging decorations on buildings and within the Magical Forest.

Provides customer service to patrons.

Directs patrons to rides, seats, or attractions.

Responsible for keeping property secured.

Reports any safety and security concerns to the Security Team.

Reports any broken items to the Facilities Team through an electronic system (FMX).

Undertake special projects and assignments as directed, such as setup and teardown of non-Magical Forest events.

Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as  mandated by state law.

May be assigned other duties as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not directly supervise OV team members but may support overseeing volunteers.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Ability to resolve multiple complex issues simultaneously while remaining calm in stressful situations.

Ability to use hand tools competently and safely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Required: One (1) year of verifiable work experience.

Required: Forklift and high lift certifications within 30 days of employment.

Preferred: Forklift and high lift certification.

Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to lift and move boxes up to fifty (50) pounds

Ability to tolerate a highly active environment.

Ability to work outside in a theme park environment with variable weather conditions.

Ability to conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.

Manual dexterity to operate equipment.

Ability to bend, squat, stand, and climb to heights for long periods of time

Ability to work on ladders and be comfortable with heights of 20 – 25 feet.

Ability to work on scissor and basket lifts, and other such related equipment

Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Required: One (1) to three (3) years verifiable work experience
  • Preferred: Current Driver’s License
  • Preferred: Forklift and high lift certification a plus, must be able to obtain forklift and high lift certifications
