JOB SUMMARY:
Case Manager 2 (CM 2) will work with all facets of the Workforce Development program. This position works with participants, training, data entry and evaluation. They will lead training sessions (in person or remotely), review portfolios, conduct orientations, and build community connections. The CM2 will assist participants with job-seeking skills, personal development, life supports and career readiness through creating individual professional development plans, assessing job readiness, and connecting graduates with potential employers. This position requires evening and weekend hours. Staff will need to be proficient in teams, zoom, virtual learning environment and systems data tracking software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Enrollment
- Recruit potential clients through phone, email and outreach activities
- Conduct information sessions for potential students
- Facilitate enrollment paperwork, ensure completed application
- Ensure quality data collection and data entry
- Complete WRAT assessments with assigned participant prior to enrollment
- Provide technical resources for participants prior to program start date (if need be: computers, resources for low-cost internet)
Case Management
- Facilitate completion of Individual Development Plans (IDP) with new participants.
- Work with workforce staff to identify barriers and provide resources
- Provide regular check-ins with participants regarding goals identified in IDP, and ongoing support with barriers
- Build relationships with partners, centers, life support and life skills community organizations and resources
Data Entry
- Record case notes for one-on-one contacts with all participants in WF1 system
- Ensure timely, high quality, accurate data collection and entry into YWCA and grant systems.
Curriculum and Training
- Lead cohorts and session of YWCA teacher training curriculum
- Provide portfolio review and additional learning and writing opportunities
- Coach participants and offer resources and referrals
RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to Workforce Development staff. The incumbent will interact with all levels of the Organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Associate’s Degree or equal experience in field
- A minimum of one year experience working in a professional setting
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to write routine reports, newsletter articles and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization.
- Ability to navigate database as required by funders
Preferred:
- Ability to speak a second language.
- Training Certification through the registry Minnesota Center for Professional Development (MNCPD)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and use a computer keyboard. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Individual must have the ability to get to and from various sites/events/meetings in the metro area on an occasional basis.
