Title / Position: Assistant Director, Snowsports

Position type: Seasonal, Full time; Hourly, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Snowsports

Bromley’s focus is on guest relations and ski/snowboard instruction. We are looking for an Assistant Snowsports Director who is team oriented to help lead our snow sports department. We are looking for outgoing, confident individuals that desire a challenge.

Summary: Primary role is to help manage the Ski & Snowboard School, provide leadership to supervisors and instructors, interact with guests and provide instruction to guests learning to ski or snowboard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To hire, train, schedule and record time and other employment records of employees to meet anticipated business demands
  • To insure that the proper methods of instruction are used
  • To see that the guests are given the best care possible
  • To participate in designing and implementing any new programs for school use
  • To oversee the various school operations, so that they are operated in a professional manner
  • Directly monitors KidsRule
  • Directly monitors all different school programs
  • Develop and monitor Ski & Snowboard School budget
  • Monitor on going expenses/purchases for programs
  • Provide weekly communication meetings w/admin. And supervisory staff
  • Ensures the completion of daily/weekly safety checklist
  • Run line-ups
  • Have a working knowledge of Sirius software computer program
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Must be a level 3 or higher PSIA instructor
  • Must be organized and have strong supervision skills
  • Must be available full time 5 days a week during winter season, weekends and holidays included
  • Maintain a caring and sensitive attitude towards guest
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible in response to changing class assignments and working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in all types of winter weather for extended periods
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an expert level in any type of snow conditions
  • Punctual and prepared to perform work duties on time
  • Must maintain personal appearance in accordance with Bromley standards

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position assists the Snowsports Director in supervising a department of 120+ employees. Hiring, training, scheduling, and leading this team is a critical part of the responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates primarily outdoors, on snow, during the winter season.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically active role requiring several hours of standing and working outdoors; on and off snow. Occasionally indoors using computers and phones as well. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs over uneven terrain.
