Job Description
Interactive Government Holdings (IGH) is seeking qualified, trained and capable individual to serve as the National Training Manager for the National Guard Connectedness and Relationship Education System.
NG CARES is an integrated, comprehensive, person-centered (eco)system which builds connections, increases protective factors, and promotes holistic health in support of Service Members and their Families throughout their career. These programs are critical to retention, readiness, and reduction of risky behaviors and emplacing protective environments in support of primary prevention strategies.
Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive):
Work closely with multiple stakeholders including NGB, National CARES Team, S/T/DC to support the successful development, implementation and ongoing delivery and operations of NG CARES.
In coordination with (ICW) the National CARES Team, identify program needs of S/T/DC and develop action steps to provide them the resources they need to implement program/training. Coach trainers at the S/T/DC adult learning principles and techniques to advance learning and ongoing development.
Conduct or facilitate required and recommended training sessions and maintain files and records of training attendance, completion, and evaluation.
ICW the National CARES Team, develop support and training assistance for CARES programs. Manage the design and/or update of instructor guides, participant handouts, and slides.
ICW the National CARES Team, develop a process to review existing curriculum and suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization.
Oversee and monitor quality control and improvement activities at the S/T/DC level.
Assist in management of the process for measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of NG CARES through various assessment methods i.e., evaluations, surveys, observations, etc.
ICW the National CARES Team, plan, schedule, execute, and instruct at least six Train-the-Trainer Courses. Tentative locations are Boise, Idaho; Fort McCoy, Wisconsin; and Columbus, Ohio. Note: A baseline curriculum does exist, but requires updates. The National CARES Team will work closely with the contractor to update the curriculum.
Provide oversight to and develop the Area Training Managers and Training Managers.
Meet timelines for administrative tasks, activities, and events.
Collect, assimilate, and showcase data to objectively support lines of effort and resource funding.
Maintain accurate data files and records to enable management to track the program’s progress/status.
Create/coordinate online registration for events that require registration. Online registration will be completed utilizing Army 365 and Microsoft Forms.
Attend all meetings, present trainings and reports as needed.
Coordinate with internal/external networks to obtain resources for events, manuals, supplies and materials.
Provide monthly documents and reports that are accurate and meet the suspense of the 1st of each month 98% of the time.
Due to the nature of the service, experience with the military is required. Experience can be gained through prior or current military service, member of a military family, or service as a military family volunteer.
Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license and a personally owned vehicle that can be utilized.
Work may vary. An uncommon tour of duty may be required. Flexibility with working schedule is mandatory because it impacts the ability to support and serve military.
Travel is anticipated for training. Travel will include regional and national to support mobile training team events.
Contractor employees will be reimbursed mileage according to (JTR).
Skills / Certifications / Qualifications:
Master’s degree (preferred) in Leadership, Organizational Development, Talent Development, Adult Learning, Program Development, Human Development, Relational Leadership, or Program Management or related area and at least 10 years of experience with five years of supervisory and four years of training experience required. 15 years relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.
Exemplary skills in presenting/facilitating a wide variety of training to diverse audiences and the ability to instruct/coach others on training. Ability to work as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated consultative approach: excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all management levels. Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, complex, multi-task virtual environment. Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce deliverables that carry a "stamp of excellence."
Manages the Area Training Managers in close coordination with the National CARES Team.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to travel up to 40%, on average.
