Summary of Job Responsibilities: Supervises and coordinates all activities in the departments of customer service, warehouse and material management to ensure these departments run efficiently and meet company goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Initiate all orders for all raw materials based on material exceptions/demand
  2. Follow & Execute corporate procurement procedures
  3. Manage and maintain inventory i.e. raw materials, packaging, dyes, finished goods through the use of consumption reporting
  4. Reduce inefficacies, redundancies and inaccuracies in inventory management
  5. Ensure USMCA regulations are met. Work with corporate sourcing to insure all regulatory documentation is gathered as needed.
  6. Assist in training and development of employees to increase their awareness and insure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as governmental regulations
  7. Oversee shipping activities to insure accuracy, completeness and acceptable conditions of shipments. Initiates all order pick lists to insure first in/first out inventory movement.
  8. Oversee all receiving activities to insure accuracy. Works closely with Quality team to insure material meets specifications.
  9. Initiates and manages all vendor RMAs.
  10. Oversees daily material staging
  11. Create and maintain a working list of open orders
  12. Generate and maintain working relationships and contacts with logistic vendors as well as our customer's shipping representatives,
  13. Manage and organize color chip/matches for each dye order and verify each chip meets specifications. Evaluate and confirm that material consumption in production correlates with bill of material standards.
  14. Manage/direct the blending of materials
  15. Coordinate incoming non-inventory items to insure timely receipts within our ERP system
  16. Evaluate and determine stocking levels of inventory to achieve or exceed inventory turns goals
  17. Work closely with sales and product development in managing customer accounts
  18. Coordinate with customers on customer supplied materials to insure timely delivery to our plant
  19. Arrange occasional freight shipments and track lost or damaged shipments
  20. Become highly proficient with our ERP system (IQMS) and maintain/update standards
  21. Work effectively and as a team with other managers within the plant including but not limited to production and manufacturing managers as needed
  22. Create and maintain robust and repeatable processes utilizing our IQMS system

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Manages shipping and receiving clerks, warehouse administrator and customer service representative . Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include involvement in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Refer employees to Employee Assistance Provider when appropriate.

Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience :

Associate's degrees (A. A.) or equivalent from 2 year college and 5+ years of previous material/warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Baccalaureate degree preferred.

Training Requirements : Successful completion of the following training is required:

Annually - 24 hours of continued education

Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must excel at problem solving.

Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Software Knowledge : Must have high proficiency in the use of computer skills in the area of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel, IQMS (Manufacturing Enterprise System), and other appropriate software tools.

Work Environment : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
