Description

Verticomm System Engineers are responsible for the service delivery and service experience for new and existing Verticomm clients. They are the technical leader for a team of resources and coordinate to ensure that the technical execution of service delivery is handled to the highest degree that we and our clients expect. They work with their team to provide pro-active care of client environments aiming to reduce support and maintenance needs from the client, and handle IT service related disruptions to client systems. Systems Engineers’ coordinate the technical execution of projects with their team of resources. Projects include but are not limited to server and/or service migrations, E-Mail migrations, software implementations, etc. In this role, SEs are expected to own all primary responsibilities involved with the Client Network and act as the system administrator including technical responsibilities for all aspect of the client IT needs, internal and external communication, Project Management, Documentation, Vendor management/communication. Duties and responsibilities The SE is responsible for:

1. Supporting and Maintaining Verticomm Client environments

2. Executing and completing project-based services quickly and efficiently.

3. Producing quality work.

4. Following established process, policies and procedures.

5. Helping to improve existing process, policies and procedures

6. Developing new process, policies and procedures when required.

7. Update and maintain Documentation and CRM systems with accurate information. gathered during the support of Client.

8. Accurately document and track time.

9. Participate in on-call rotation.

10. Effectively communicating and interfacing with other internal departments.

11. Providing recommendations and best practices reviews as needed.

12. Responsible for completing training and certifications

Technical Skills, Education and Qualifications Education: Fifth year college or university program certificate; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic / Minimum qualifications:

• 4+ years' experience working in an IT System Administrator role or related role.

• 4+ years' experience working with or supporting windows server environments.

• Have performed numerous server and service migrations including data migrations, database and software migrations, email migrations, etc.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.

• Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.

• Experience Working with 3rd party applications (deploying, migrating, troubleshooting)

• Foundational networking experience and knowledge. Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years IT System Administrator experience or 4+ years Field Engineer

• Experience with supporting and implementing Virtual Environments. Experience with supporting and implementing Cloud Infrastructure.

• Experience or certifications on public cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).

• Firewall, wireless, switching and routing networking experience.

• Experience with supporting and implementing backup solutions.

• Broad range of experience with other IT related tasks.

Specific Technologies: VMware vSphere, Fortinet/Fortigate, RMM suites (Kaseya, Solarwinds, Automate etc), Veeam Availability Suite, Office 365, Public cloud experience Azure/AWS, ConnectWise CRM, Windows Server (2008-2019), Mimecast Spam filtering, Security solutions (ERM, SIEM, MFA, etc).

Additional Qualifications: Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working conditions/Office Location Primary working environment will be in the Verticomm office space with visits to client locations as needed to complete support tasks.

System Engineers work standard business hours but duties and responsibilities will sometimes require long weeks and afterhours work to meet project goals. Individuals must be able to sit at a computer and work for extended periods of time, and must be able to work in various client office environments.

This is not a remote position Physical requirements While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Professional Services engineer must be able to mount and rack hardware at client sites.

Salary:

Non-Exempt $80,000-$120,000/year dependent on experience. We also offer paid time and financial assistance for certification achievement and a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, long and short term disability, company paid life insurance, a 401 K plan with a generous company match, 3 weeks of paid time off and 7 paid holidays. We also sponser numerous company events throughout the year.
