Summary: Assurety Consulting, a leader in the postal/parcel ecosystem, seeks highly qualified applicants for a Data Analyst position. This is a full-time position in Washington, D.C., with a remote hybrid working opportunity 2-3 days a week. This position requires a US Postal Service (USPS) security clearance and the applicant must be either a US citizen or a Green Card holder.
The Sr. Data Scientist is directly accountable/responsible for successful project delivery. This individual provides hands-on leadership to the team as well as manages client relationships. A data scientist is a data expert who uses statistics, computer science, and business acumen to help organizations understand themselves and achieve their goals. They collect, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data to solve business problems.

Preferred Applicant Characteristics:
The Sr. Data Analyst-Data Scientist must have a minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience analyzing data needs and will provide guidance and direction to the team, both from a technical/analytical perspective as well as from a management standpoint. In addition, the Data Analyst-Data Scientist will be responsible for using applied statistics to develop solutions, data mining, data analysis, data summarization, and developing client presentations.
- Build data analysis models.
- Create algorithms and predictive models.
- Use data visualization techniques.
- Extract meaning from raw data.
- Improve data collection procedures.
- Visualize data patterns.
- Implements state-of-the-practice systems and technology in the Client’s environment, using leading approaches, concepts, and ideas.
- Researches and evaluates system designs to select appropriate technology and use resources efficiently.
- Evaluate and recommend COTS applications and methodologies that can be acquired to provide technology solutions.
- Develops transition strategies and plans to cut over legacy systems.
- Performs Project Management functions by Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.
General Job Duties:
- At least 8 years’ experience in analyzing data needs, business needs, performing business process engineering, and proposing solutions.
- At least 8 years’ experience in business and technical analysis experience in client-facing roles.
- At least 7 years experience in leading projects and modeling activities.
- At least 7 years of experience in Statistical Analysis System (SAS) 9.0 or some equivalent analysis software
- Verbal and written communication skills must be at a professional level.
