Description

Full-time, temporary 6 months in Brooklyn. 2 positions available; in-person (with possibility of work from home 1 or 2 days/week).

This position works with survivors of gender-based violence 18 years old and up. This advocate provides supportive counseling, case management and advocacy support to survivors in this age group and their families.

This role's effectiveness is tied into having a collaborative spirit and prioritizing strong teamwork. This includes working together with their assigned community-based team as well as with other staff across Client Service, to carry out various projects and events that meets and elevates the voices of the survivors we work alongside.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling and case management support for 20-25 adult survivors and their families
  • Conduct check in sessions
  • Develop service plans
  • Provide accurate case notes and documentation
  • Design and facilitate events for survivors and their families
  • Provide outreach
  • Attend necessary meets and actively contribute
 
Position Requirements

BSW or MSW

Prefer candidates bilingual in Bengali, Mandarin, or Spanish.
