Description

Summary:  The Hiring Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from identifying hiring needs to onboarding new hires. This role involves collaborating with department managers at Equipment Source to understand their staffing requirements, sourcing and attracting candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring a smooth hiring process. The Hiring Specialist will also contribute to employer branding initiatives to attract top talent.  As needed, stand in for Hiring Department at Fountainhead.

Duties:

  • Recruitment Strategy - Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates.  Collaborate with department heads to understand their staffing needs and create detailed job descriptions.
  • Sourcing Candidates - Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and employee referrals.  Maintain a pipeline of potential candidates for future hiring needs.
  • Screening and Interviewing - Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.  Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications.  Schedule and coordinate interviews with managers.  Conduct in-depth interviews and assessments.
  • Candidate Experience - Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.  Provide timely feedback and updates to candidates.
  • Job Offer Management - Collaborate with HR and Vice-President to develop competitive job offers.  Extend job offers and negotiate terms with selected candidates.  Manage the offer acceptance and onboarding process.
  • Employee Onboarding - Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires.  Coordinate with various departments to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.  Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new hires to company policies, culture, and expectations.  Ensure new hires have all necessary resources and information for their roles.  Provide ongoing support to new hires during their initial period with the company.  Gather feedback from new hires to continuously improve the onboarding process.
  • Data Management and Reporting - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on hiring platforms.  Provide regular reports on recruitment metrics and activities.
  • Employee Training and Development - Design, develop, and deliver training programs for new hires and existing employees.  Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements.  Create training materials, including manuals, e-learning modules, and workshop content.  Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars.  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.  Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in employee training and development.
  • Compliance and Best Practices - Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.  Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and hiring.
  • Assist hiring department at Fountainhead - Help sending out offer letters, Help with initial onboarding.  Assist where needed.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 2-year degree in business and/or human resources
  • 3 years Human Resources related experience to include recruiting
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of recruiting, selection and HR information systems
  • Basic knowledge of employment and labor laws
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, creating spreadsheets, writing business correspondence, and other office procedures and technology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, to include effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Able to understand, interpret, apply and explain policies and procedures
  • Able to read and understand written information
  • Able to use sound judgment and make appropriate independent decisions
  • Able to manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Able to perform activities in a standard office environment with extensive public contact
  • Able to perform with sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard; to travel to other locations; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for an office environment with or without correction.
