Sanitation Manager
The Sanitation Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of the Minerva Dairy Sanitation Program throughout the manufacturing plant.
This position reports to the Compliance Manager.
This position performs
The technical liaison between the plant, management, and the chemical supplier
Provides leadership and direction to the entire plant on all shifts including receiving, production, pasteurization, and packaging in cleaning processes including CIP, COP, and manual scrubbing
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Oversees and manages the daily sanitation operations
Assign duties to sanitation and production staff
Perform Pre-op & Post-op inspections
Perform cleaning verification and validation programs to prove the effectiveness of the Sanitation program.
Environmental
Perform Environmental testing and chemical titrations.
Documentation
Maintain and update all sanitation databases, records and generate daily reports.
Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule
Enhance the Master Sanitation Schedule and SSOPs in conjunction with the SQF Practitioner.
Manage and evaluate the Sanitation Staff
Performance management and employee development, etc.
Provide leadership and training to personnel performing sanitation procedures & chemical handling.
Coordinate Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) Initiatives
Chemical Management
Develop and manage the department’s chemical budget.
Maintain and organize chemical storage and sanitation supply areas.
Act as liaison between personnel and outside contractors.
Pest Control
Manage Pest Control Program
Work Closely with the Pest Control Company
Approve chemical usage to align with Organic Certification
Expected Experience & Required Skills
Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
Experience in manufacturing and supervisory role
Certified Sanitarian
Knowledge of HACCP – Microbiology – Sanitation – Chemical Safety – Pest Control – and Quality Systems
Understand and comply with government regulations relating to OSHA, FDA, USDA, ODA and EPA
Knowledge of Pasteurization and HTST equipment
Proven ability to deliver results
Knowledge of the Dairy industry and sanitation
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to articulate effectively: both verbal and writing
Highly personable, trustworthy
Open to learn every single day
Proficient in operating a computer and associate applications (MS Office)
Ability to motivate staff about the importance of quality and sanitation.
Ability to update and develop detailed spreadsheets and preset to staff
