About the Organization Alaska Center for the Performing Arts has been a downtown landmark and icon for over 30 years. We have served as an arts entertainment hub for the community with a diverse season delivered by our 9 resident companies and other presenters.

We are a non-profit organization founded to operate, promote and maintain a four-theatre complex which serves as a social and cultural meeting place for all Alaskan residents, the visiting public and performing arts presenters and producers.

Description

Salary Range: starting $58,760 (DOE)

Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and at events as needed.

Job Summary

The role of the Content Manager includes oversight and coordination of content for Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (ACPA), CenterTix, and Broadway Alaska. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Sales and is responsible for the development and project management for all content and related projects for the organization, ensuring that ACPA, CenterTix, and Broadway Alaska brand voice is maintained and clear in all communications.

To succeed in this role, our candidate should have a clear understanding of communications, digital tools and platforms, social media and email marketing, design best practices, project management and collaboration experience with strong attention to detail, customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork.

Job Duties

Content Management

  • Develop content for various ACPA, CenterTix, and Broadway Alaska channels, programs, and executions.
  • Oversee brand management under direction of Director of Marketing & Sales.
  • Coordinate with all departments, clients, and events to ensure all content needs are met and up-to-date

Digital Marketing

  • Email Marketing
    • CenterMail, ACPA's email marketing subscription platform provides services and various package options for event clients at the PAC. The Content Manager oversees segmenting, scheduling, sending, and reporting on all email marketing campaigns.
  • Social Media (organic and paid)
    • Collaborate with Director of Marketing & Sales to execute all social media plans for ACPA, CenterTix, and Broadway Alaska
  • Display Media
    • Place and size/resize creative for all placements.
  • Search (organic and paid)
    • Manage ACPA, CenterTix, and Broadway Alaska SEO, in collaboration with contract web developer.
  • Metrics and Reporting
    • Provide regular reports to ACPA management and clients.

Graphic Design

  • Resize and localize assets for advertising and social media placements.
  • Provide graphic design for various campaigns, executions and departmental/program needs, and work with contract designers as needed.

Website

  • Oversee and implement all content management for ACPA websites through content management platform.
  • Collaborate with contract website developer.

Other Duties

  • Maintain a professional work environment.
  • Collaborate on annual and event based plans with all departments.
  • Provide event support as needed or assigned.
  • Represent organization at community engagement activities.
  • Other Duties as assigned within the scope of work and abilities.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • College degree or professional work experience in field strongly preferred.
  • Three years of relevant experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
  • Experience with live event marketing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience and comfort with content management platforms and email service providers for email marketing program preferred.

Knowledge

Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing stellar customer service, both internal and external. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction - both internal and external.

Project and Workflow Management: Strong attention to detail, communication of deadlines and overall time management.

English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Basic Skills

  • Communication - Executing excellent written and oral communication, appropriate for any given audience, including consistent communication on work progress and team projects with regular updates to staff and stakeholders on content being distributed to public, and providing information for multiple ambassadors/partners working to advocate for ACPA and its programs and needs.
  • Social Skills - Commitment to professionalism and adjusting approach in relation to others' values or ‘why' in the effort to better meet their needs and understand their behaviors when communicating or working together.
  • Professionalism - Maintain a professional work environment with an energetic, kind, efficient, communicative, and resourceful approach to work.

Technical Skills

  • Content Development and Writing: Crafting compelling content that involves a strong command of language, tone, and style, along with editing and proof-reading abilities. Working knowledge of best practices for professional writing, social and email marketing, ad copy and brand communications.
  • Design: Working knowledge of design for digital, web and print.
  • SEO and Digital Marketing: Understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and digital marketing strategies, including keyword search, SEO best practices, and optimizing content for search engines and user engagement.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzing datasets to assist in making informed decisions about content strategy.
  • Basic Coding: Understanding of basic HTML and other coding concepts.

Safety First - ACPA is committed to safety. As the venue, we strive to always provide a safe environment for everyone by ad hearing to, and enforcing, strict safety protocols.

Role Relationships - This position reports to the Director Marketing & Sales while working closely with all departments, clients, and stakeholders of ACPA.

Work Setting - Active Multi-venue facility consisting of three fly-house theaters and one black box hall. This position resides in the administrative office, which is a typical office setting. Work Attire - Casual to Business Casual, appropriate to the work situation.
