SHIFT: Monday - Friday 6am to 2pm

 

LOCATION: Lancaster Campus

 

POSITION SUMMARY: With minimal supervision, perform a broad range of tasks and duties associated with general building custodial services.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide general building custodial tasks including but not limited to: offices, entrance ways, hallways, restrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, lounges, stairwells, dorm rooms, apartments etc.
  • Keep building furniture, equipment, and premises clean, neat and safe at all times.
  • Make efficient use of custodial supplies
  • Operate various types of custodial equipment
  • Maintain custodial inventory, place orders for custodial supplies and receive/verify delivery of custodial supplies.
  • Provide routine care and maintenance to cleaning equipment.
  • Set up and prepare for scheduled campus events, including providing support for overnight guest accommodations
  • Perform minor repairs when possible and report the need for maintenance work orders to be written when repairs require special skills.
  • Evaluate and assist with selection of new cleaning products and equipment.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and work guidelines encountered in the maintenance and operation of institutional buildings and natural environment. Communicate issues to managers or supervisors; actively participate in training activities, seminars, and safety meetings.
  • Position is designated as "essential personnel" and is required to provide various duties and maintenance services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week as required during institutional closures, and duties related to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled events.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED, valid Pennsylvania driver's license, up to one year of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the requirements of this position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring above average physical strength.
  • Must be able to work from ladders.
  • Possess the ability to work independently, under the direction of others, follow oral and written instructions, and work with other staff members as part of a team to create and maintain a positive, productive, safe and efficient work environment.
  • Satisfactory background checks will be required.
