Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery and surrounding properties is looking for a professional, energetic, enthusiastic individual who takes pride in their work, gets satisfaction from accomplishing tasks, and understands the importance beautiful gardening. From planting and seeding to weeding and trimming trees, this person will work with the gardening team to ensure the property is well maintained and that every guest that visits the property is amazed by our stunning views. Since there is guest interaction, the individual in this role will need to exhibit adequate communication skills, and will always be expected to project a professional attitude.
Location: Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits, 20 minutes north of Scottsville
Hours: Full-time, regularly scheduled 40 hours/week - Monday thru Friday, year-round, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM/ 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Wage: $18/hr to $21/hr - based on experience + excellent benefits

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Complete tasks including but not limited to: weeding, watering, planting, sweeping, raking, snow removal, composting, edging, trimming, pruning, transplanting, shrub bed renewal/installation/repair, mulching, seeding, exterior/interior plant care, propagation of plant material
- Minimize and prevent deterioration of equipment, landscaped grounds, and infrastructure
- Provide assistance as needed completing and collaborating on projects/tasks
- Maintain greenhouses for vegetable gardening, perennial, and annual production
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in horticulture, or demonstrable experience in horticultural management, or trade certifications or 3- 5 years work equivalent in a related field
- Strong working knowledge of a variety of plants, plant materials, and grounds maintenance is a must
- Experience in the operation of basic landscaping tools and small machinery
- Must work well in an environment of changing priorities, be a quick learner, ability to multi-task, maintain a professional demeanor under pressure, ability to solve problems in a creative manner
- Physically able to bend over, kneel, or stand for extended periods of time, lift, push, pull objects of up to 70 pounds in weight
- Ability to work in all types of weather, from heat to wind to wet and cold
- Must be a self-motivated, dedicated employee who has the ability to set priorities, work independently, follow directives with minimal supervision, is team-oriented, flexible, and hard working
- Customer oriented, prompt, and friendly
