Safe Child Advocate 


Responsibilities include providing direct advocacy services to victims of abuse to include:

  • Provides information, referral and support for victims of child abuse and the non-offending parent. 
  • Provides education/training to individual community members, groups and agencies regarding child abuse and available services. Takes a leadership role in facilitating community prevention activities.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date data collection, providing necessary reports as required.
  • Provides coverage for 24-hour line supporting new volunteers and clients as needed.
  • Keeps current on applicable laws and changes in procedures and laws that relate to client need.
  • Works with and receives case consultation from Law Enforcement Officials, Prosecuting Attorney, Victim Witness Assistant and Child the Welfare Social Workers involved as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach.
  • Coordinates training for Yakama Nation service providers/child abuse first responders.
  • Provides systems based advocacy and participates in the County’s child abuse protocol efforts to improve systemic response to child abuse.
Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in related human services field.

Other Credentials Required: Must be able to read, write and speak both English and Spanish, Driver's License, Vehicle Liability Insurance
