Assurety Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst Lead to join our team. This role is essential in collaborating with enterprise clients, managing the planning and delivery of business and technical requirements, and designing documentation for 3–4 software releases per year. These releases support mission-critical systems that influence revenue, operations, customer experience, and more.
As the Lead Business Analyst, you will work closely with the client, internal IT teams, and stakeholders to deliver business needs statements, requirement specifications, and API design documents. You’ll also lead planning, risk identification, and team coordination for both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

Where You're Located:
Candidates for this role will be based in the United States near the Washington, D.C. Metro area. The position requires an on-site presence of 3-4 days in Washington, D.C. at client site.
General Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage requirements development across 3–4 major software releases annually
- Develop and maintain Business Needs Statements, Agile stories, and Waterfall-style Software Requirements Documents (SRDs)
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to analyze business goals and translate them into technical and functional requirements
- Serve as a liaison between business users and development teams
- Document scope, objectives, and system specifications
- Analyze user needs and define enhancements for systems and applications that affect revenues, products, and operational efficiency
- Lead risk identification and communication to project stakeholders and PMO
- Support and manage testing efforts including test plan development, execution, and reporting
- Collaborate on API design and data exchange requirements using flat files, XML, and JSON formats
- Deliver supporting documentation, including business/technical guides, reports, PowerPoint training materials, and Change Requests (CRs/ECRs)
- Support integration, onboarding, and communication across technical and business teams.

Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting revenue-generating systems or customer-facing enterprise solutions
- Prior experience delivering on systems with operational, risk, or compliance components
- Knowledge of enterprise integration practices and performance analytics
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and systems documentation
- 3+ years of experience leading planning and requirements activities in Agile and Waterfall environments
- Proven ability to transform complex business needs into actionable technical specifications
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills – including creating training materials and client-facing communications
- Strong problem-solving and consulting skills with the ability to drive clarity across cross-functional teams
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across business, IT, and integration teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and SQL
- Experience in data analysis, data modeling, and API design documentation
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
