Description

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) seeks a solutions-oriented, intellectually curious candidate with superior attention to detail and organizational skills to support the execution of climate lending training and capacity-building programs for its members, primarily related to its Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) award. This is an exciting opportunity within OFN’s Development Services team to contribute to a new program and partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to transform the community development finance industry with new clean financing ecosystems.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative, logistical, and operational support to execute virtual trainings as well as other activities of the Development Services team related to climate lending training & capacity-building. Responsibilities include but are not limited to organizing, maintaining, and uploading training materials; organizing and communicating logistical information with attendees; creating & managing registration sites; and creating training evaluations and synthesizing information from them to contribute to continuous improvement of climate lending capacity-building programs.

  • As needed, support execution of in-person trainings, events, and gatherings by providing on-site support and preparing, assembling, and shipping materials.

  • Utilize and build expertise with a variety of digital platforms, including Cvent, Zoom, and Salesforce, to facilitate the activities of the Development Services team related to climate training and capacity-building programming.

  • Provide high-quality customer service by responding to inquiries, via email and phone, from members, event/training attendees, and other stakeholders efficiently, professionally, and effectively.

  • Assist with the coordination and management of monthly communities of practice meetings.

  • Contribute to the writing and development of climate training and capacity-building content as needed, e.g., by assisting with conducting research and analysis to support the creation of climate training content and services for CDFI practitioners, drawing from publications, stakeholder meetings, calls, events, online forums, datasets, and other forms of desk research.

  • Assist with other activities of the Development Services team as requested.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-7 years of direct professional work experience in lieu of degree.

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in project/event management, operations, education, or community development.

  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and precision in execution.

  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn how to utilize digital tools and platforms such as Cvent, Zoom, and Salesforce.

  • Customer-focused mindset and solution-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering a positive experience.

  • Curiosity and commitment to learning, ideally with an interest in climate finance, community development, financial institutions, nonprofits, and/or economic and social justice.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required with emphasis on clarity, conciseness, relevance, and the ability to appropriately adjust for different audiences.

  • Self-starter with experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects, assignments, and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving needs and work collaboratively and flexibly within a dynamic team to support the overall success of events, trainings, and programs.

  • Comfort working in a nonprofit environment preferred.

  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 5% of time).

  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
