Job Title:    Quality Technician                                    Department: Quality

FLSA Status:       Nonexempt                                      Salary Level: $18-$22 / hour

Reports to: Quality Manager                                        Effective Date: 5/21/2024

Job Summary:

The Quality Technician plays a tremendous role in ensuring the products produced conform to set company safety and quality standards. They are responsible for inspecting, testing, dispositioning of products and overseeing operations to ensure the prevention of unsatisfactory products moving forward.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and process instructions within a professional manufacturing environment.
  • Reviewing prints and specifications to compare to produced goods
  • Audit samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions using approved methods
  • Audit various process characteristics per specification plans, may include but is not limited to: Receiving inspection of components or raw materials, WIP, Quarantined inventory, Re-worked components or assemblies, Finished goods audits.
  • Discuss inspection results when necessary with process operators

Understand/Adhere and Train to the processes compliant with the Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015.

  • Support/Train production on processes/use of gages needed to complete job competencies
  • Make recommendations for process improvements (PIF’s)
  • Back up/Train in other quality processes/competencies including disposition of non-conforming parts/customer returns
  • Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database. May include but not limited to; Calibration input, PPAP results, FAIR’s, and SPC data collection/input

  • Update documentation, including electronic systems, with accurate, real-time, appropriate information according to established practices and procedures.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner with both internal and external customers.
  • Participate in all appropriate meetings, in-person, on-site, or remote, as defined.
  • Routinely share feedback, solutions, and ideas, including identification of training needs.

Position Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 – 4 years manufacturing and or quality support experience
  • Proficient in using inspection measuring equipment
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • ERP manufacturing experience
