CNSNext Customer Payments Specialist I 

Description

This is an entry level cashiering position receiving extensive supervision and frequent reviews from the CNSNext Customer Payments Team Leader. This person is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and cashiering tasks requiring independent judgment and actions, including the making of frequent decisions dealing with complex customer service sensitive issues and in accordance with the Municipal laws, policies and practices.

Receives, counts, balances and reports cash and negotiable instruments for payment of all monies received by CNSNext.

Receives payments and returns receipt to customers for payments made.

Counts and bands money received frequently during the workday.

Daily deposits must equal postings and monies deposited in the bank.

Gives information to other divisions and the public, applying significant knowledge of rules, regulations and procedures to interpretation made.

Provide outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds the needs and reasonable expectations of the position.

 
Position Requirements

Graduation from a standard High School or G.E.D.

Additional classes involving bookkeeping and clerical work preferred.

Knowledgeable in Excel and Microsoft Word preferred.

Experience as a customer service representative preferred.

Ability to make routine decisions dealing with complex, customer service sensitive issues and in accordance with ordinances and regulation and to apply these to work problems and general public.

Ability to make mathematical computations accurately and with reasonable speed.

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with the general public and employees.

 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Required(80%+)for this position: sitting,holding,keyboarding,reading,mathskills,eye-hand coordination,clear vision,hearing,contact with public,use of a computer.On a frequent basis(50%+): use of calculator,writing,standing,walking,reaching,grasping,talking,use of telephone.Occasional working overtime,using a copier,lifting 0-14 lbs,bending or squatting. Mental stress or pressure is occasional.
