Provide Benefits program administrators regarding group life, health, dental and 401K Pension Plan Package and personal leave.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES: Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions. Supervises, trains and manages the work of benefits staff. Provides administrative service and information to employees and benefit program administrators regarding group life, health/dental benefits, and pension plan. Coordinates employee enrollment into benefit and pension plans within the time limits; facilitates annual open enrollment. Collects, compiles, and analyzes information and data to verify the accuracy in calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Maintains statistical data pertaining to premiums, claims, and cost. Resolves administrative problems by working closely with the carrier representative and accounting department. Maintains computer filing maintenance system including files of benefits history, data, correspondence, reports, and forms. Coordinates and/or conducts sessions with individual and group training programs. Is responsible for medical billing and statements. Monitors leaves of absence and tracks for benefits compliance. Assists in filing IRS 1095 for ACA reporting. Acts as a contact person for all benefit programs. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Is sensitive to Native American Culture. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Performs other duties as assigned.     Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must have extensive record keeping skills and be detail oriented. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel from site-to-site and state-to-state. Ability to speak in front of large groups of people. Ability to work with a multicultural workforce. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically capable of sitting at a computer desk for long periods of time. Occasional periods of standing and walking Occasional exposure to tobacco smoke EDUCATION AND SKILLS Education Required: Associate’s Degree (two-year college or university) Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: Three or more years’ experience in insurance administration or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement. Computer Skills: Must have a strong computer background and knowledge of office equipment.
