U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and skills to help people make smart decisions in their everyday lives. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Account Executive to join our Advertising Sales team. As a Senior Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our Education related advertising partnerships within U.S.News Education.

 

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Prospect and build a high volume of new and existing business within an assigned list of education institutions, close business successfully and negotiate to expand services for existing partners.

  • Build relationships by using a consultative approach, meeting with leaders to discuss their strategic challenges and opportunities, presenting effective, best practice solutions.

  • Gain a strong understanding of the U.S. News brand, audience and offerings.

  • Conduct live presentations, articulate the U.S. News Education value proposition.

  • Attend industry conferences to connect with key clients at scale and build relationships

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and needs

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams including strategy, marketing, account management and product to execute integrated solutions and share insights and client feedback to further inform the product roadmap.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitors.

  • Track performance as it relates to monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals

 
Position Requirements

You should definitely have:

  • Three years to five years of similar or related digital sales experience in higher education, with a proven track record of opening new accounts, driving new business, strong negotiation skills and the ability to close a deal.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

 

  • Solid relationships with decision makers at higher education institutions, and a  deep understanding of higher education admissions and enrollment needs, challenges and priorities.

 

  • Experience in selling subscriptions and lead gen services in the higher education category to marketing stakeholders, using various CRM systems to aid in the sales/account management process

 

  • Ability to hit and exceed quarterly revenue goals through persistent sales outreach.

 

  • Self-motivation, creativity and the ability to operate successfully in a team and customer service oriented environment.

 

  • A reputation for being an enthusiastic, energetic, effective networker who is committed to building relationships, effectively representing the U.S. News brand.

 

  • A strong customer focus coupled with a sense of urgency for the business, and a passion for delivering the highest level of client service.

 

  • Superb communication skills, both oral and written. The ability to present to a senior level audience with confidence.

 

  • Excellent follow-up, strong prioritization and organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • In New York City, the anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $120,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is eligible to participate in a commission plan.
