Community Health Care processes over 1,500 referrals per month! With your help, we can better support patients in our communities by managing through these referrals more efficiently, while providing direct patient care to our Dental team.
*Work from home is an option with this role, training in clinic for the first 90 days*
As a Dental Referral Specialist at Community Health Care, you would be responsible for:
- Coordinate outgoing referral appointments to referring agencies.
- Acts as a resource and contact for partnering agencies and internal staff about referring procedures.
- Schedules patients, while reviewing the chart for accurate demographic information and ensures all required field and forms are completed.
- Works collaboratively with Electronic Health Record clerks, Diagnostic specialists and all medical care teams and providers.
- Tracks referrals through completion, ensuring reports are obtained for placement in patient chart.
Education: Health Information Technology Diploma or AAS preferred, Verifiable attendance at a four-hour State Board-approved radiation seminar, with certificate to operate dental X-ray equipment, or student status preferred but not required.
Experience: 1 – 2 years scheduling/medical office experience and understanding of the dental process, Registered in the State of Iowa with additional qualification in Radiography along with current CPR certification preferred but not required.
