As a non-profit community hospital, Fitzgibbon Hospital is vital to the health and well-being of the communities it serves in the Marshall, MO and surrounding area. We are looking for a self-driven compassionate Certified Dietary Manager to join our Nutritional Services team.

Certified Dietary Manager:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to ensure that food quality, safety standards, and client expectations are satisfactorily met.
  • Maintains records of department personnel, income and expenditures, food, supplies, inventory levels, and equipment.
  • Participate in menu planning, including responding to patient’s preferences, substitution lists, therapeutic diets, and product availability and industry trends.
  • Inspect meals and assure that standards for appearance, palatability, temperature, and serving times are met.
  • Manage the preparation and service of special nourishments and supplemental feedings.
  • Assure that foods are prepared according to production schedules, menus, and standardized recipes.
  • Manage staff to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations including safe receiving, storage, preparation, and service of food.
  • Protect food in all phases of preparation, holding, service, cooking, and transportation, following HACCP Guidelines.
  • Manage physical facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Prepare cleaning schedules and maintain equipment to ensure food safety.
  • Process new diet orders and diet changes; keep diet cards updated.
  • Complete the assigned MDS section according to required timeline.
  • Interview patients to determine diet needs, calculate nutrition intake and develop appropriate dietary plans in cooperation with RDN and in compliance with physicians’ orders. Follow ethical and confidentiality principles and practices.
  • Review plan of care related to nutritional status; document concerns that can be resolved, improved, or addressed to improve client’s nutritional status and eating function.
  • Review, revise, and implement, in cooperation with the IDT, the patient’s nutrition assessment and plan of care.
  • Use evidence-based educational materials to teach patients and staff about basic diet information.
  • Support Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Nutritional Services Director as needed.
  • Manage food service department budget, implement cost-effective procedures, and manage revenue-generating services.
  • Use forecasts, food waste records, inventory, and equipment records to plan the purchase of food, supplies, and equipment. Assist in purchasing process.
  • Work cooperatively with patients, staff, physicians, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Shift:

  • Full-time (80 hours every two weeks)
  • 6am - 2:30pm

About our Nutritional Services Department
The Nutritional Services department at Fitzgibbon Hospital provides quality meals to patients, residents, employees and visitors. Café Fitz, located west of the main entrance to the hospital, just past the gift shop provides Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (weekdays only) in addition to hot coffee, freshly popped popcorn and a large variety of snacks and refreshments. Also serving residents and their guests in The Living Center, our Nutritional Services Department offers a friendly touch to the entire patient experience. The Nutritional Services staff promptly delivers meals to patient areas, providing individualized options to meet each patient’s needs.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • Position requires frequently standing, walking and lifting/carrying 20-45 lbs.
  • Excellent customer service skillsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentHelps maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Supervises tray line and works with menus.
