Description

Summary of Responsibilities: The Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist at Geneva is the on-campus advisor to graduate and online adult degree completion prospective students and the primary operational support for the graduate and online admissions team. The Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist coordinates and contributes to the success of identifying, recruiting, and enrolling students in Geneva College’s graduate degree programs and online undergraduate degree programs. This position is tasked with customer care to prospective and admitted students, using a high-level of personalization and support through established systems and processes during the admissions cycle. Additionally, this position will execute day-to-day admissions operations in collaboration with the Graduate and Online Enrollment Counselor and other campus departments to ensure successful student entry into Geneva’s graduate and online undergraduate degree programs. This position will report to the Director of Graduate and Online Admissions.

The Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist serves as a leader in enrollment strategy. As the primary manager for on-campus operations and collaboration, the Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist holds day-to-day decision-making authority. The Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist develops enrollment strategies as part of the annual recruitment planning team. This position is responsible for the annual assessment of recruiting effectiveness and opportunities to inform future enrollment activities. In addition, this position assists enrollment leadership in identifying emerging operational strategies for recruitment opportunities.

  2. Operational Caseload Management

Central to the daily tasks of the Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist is the management of all enrollment activity related to potential applicants. This activity includes counseling students on admission requirements, financial aid, and introductions to appropriate program staff for program planning and orientation. These duties include:

    1. Serve as the primary on-campus operational support for the graduate and online admissions team.
    2. Serve as the on-campus contact to prospective students and applicants in collaboration with the Graduate and Online Enrollment Counselor and Director of Graduate and Online Admissions.
    3. Provide customer service to prospective students and to applicants in relationship to the admissions process, financial aid, student accounts, and program information.
    4. Provide consistent, accurate, and timely information to recruit for Geneva’s program offerings via phone, text, email, and mail correspondence.
    5. Meet identified enrollment team goals to include lead generation and stage-to-stage conversions, which directly relate to tuition revenue generation and impact the financial health of the College.
    6. Prepare and organize student credentials for program admissions committee.
    7. Provide basic financial aid information to prospective students and connect them with the proper Financial Aid staff member.
    8. Work with program directors, faculty, and support staff to continually develop relationships to ensure prospective students enroll in the appropriate Geneva degree program to meet their education and career objectives.
    9. Utilize the Geneva College CRM system to run required reports and to document daily student contact and interactions.
    10. Partner with Admissions Operations team and Marketing and Communication team on development and management of communications plans for prospective students and applicants.
    11. Create and maintain good working relationships with other departments at Geneva and external organizations to promote Geneva’s programs.
  1. On-Campus Recruiter and Event Manager
    1. Schedule, promote, and lead individual and group informational events for prospective students, on-campus and virtual, to answer questions and secure student commitments to start a program in a selected term.
    2. Coordinates Financial Aid presentations with input and guidance from the Financial Aid staff.
    3. Represent Geneva at fairs, conferences, or other events to promote and recruit prospective students, as needed.
  2. Performance, Decision Making, and Development
    1. Participate in the annual review process, to be reviewed on the ability to successfully recruit students and meet enrollment targets.
    2. Take on additional areas of responsibility and decision making, based on professional experience, aptitude, and interest.
    3. Participate in the development track, which will reward high-performing staff and provide opportunity for professional growth.
    4. Assist the Director of Graduate and Online Admissions in the development, implementation, and analysis of recruitment strategies for assigned programs.
  3. Other Duties
    1. Attend meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities as directed.
    2. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  1. General: Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed or are able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations to safely perform the essential responsibilities of the job.
  2. Physical: Must be able to perform the following: talking, hearing, and seeing. Must have sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate all office equipment. Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds. Must be able to set up and take down displays and promotional booths.
  3. Confidentiality: Individuals must recognize that management of data, including personal information, grades, budgets, programs, and policies is necessary to the operation of the College. Such information must be kept private and confidential for the protection of the College and to obey Federal and/or State laws. Should there be doubt as to whether a certain matter is to be protected, it should be discussed with your supervisor before making a disclosure.
  4. Mental: Must be able to reason, analyze, prioritize, conceptualize, make judgments, and solve problems.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum:
    1. Education: Bachelor’s degree
    2. Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience
    3. Character and Values:
      1. Demonstrated affinity to the mission of the College.
      2. Natural communicator and relationship developer.
      3. Willingness to grow, develop, and be challenged in day-to-day work.
    4. Skills and Abilities:
      1. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
      2. Ability to effectively present Geneva’s value proposition to audiences of up to 100 people.
      3. Must have a valid driver's license and insurable status and be willing to travel off campus.
      4. The position of Graduate and Online Enrollment Specialist is critical to financial sustainability and success of the College. As such, successful candidates must demonstrate a natural drive to perform and meet enrollment targets.
    5. Christian Commitment: An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will be given to candidates who support and have an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. The individual must understand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.
  2. Preferred:
    1. Education/Certification: Currently possess or actively pursuing a master’s degree in a related field.
    2. Experience: 2-4 years of relevant admissions work experience.
    3. Skill/Abilities: Experience with Slate CRM and Jenzabar Student Information Systems.
