Description

LifeSource is hiring a Director of Information Services and Data Management to oversee all aspects of systems, technology, and data governance within the organization. They will lead the development and implementation of strategic IT initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role drives business analytics processes, collaborates with stakeholders and key technology partners to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and leads cross-functional teams to implement solutions that optimize workflows and ensure data integrity.

The Director of Information Services and Data Management also ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency standards, as well as internal organizational policies and procedures while providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to their team members. Additionally, they oversee cybersecurity measures to maintain a secure and efficient work environment.

As part of the executive leadership team, the Director of Information Services and Data Management plays a crucial role in driving organizational success through innovative technology solutions and strategic data management practices to drive analytics supporting initiatives aimed at donation growth.

As the Director of Information Services and Data Management, you'll advance our life-saving work by executing results-oriented leadership necessary for supporting the organizational success of work systems and processes, monitoring effectiveness, and utilizing key performance measures to meet objectives and goals to include:

 

  • Providing strategic direction and vision for organizational systems and technology.
    • Leading Enterprise IS/IT architecture. Evaluating IS gaps, assessing and implementing solutions, driving automation and integration.
    • Establishing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, training resources, and governance frameworks to ensure data security, integrity, reliability, timeliness, and effectiveness.
    • Optimizing Information management processes and systems driving further automation, system Integration, leading to impactful efficiencies.

 

  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of organizational processes and workflows, leveraging this knowledge to strategize, implement, and oversee IT solutions that optimize efficiency, streamline operations, ensure data integrity, and align with business objectives.
    • Collaborating with stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, driving continuous optimization and enhancement of organizational workflows.

 

  • Leading the development and implementation of business analytics processes to enhance reporting, visualization, and generate actionable insights for informed decision-making.
    • Fostering innovation in improving donation processes through data utilization.
    •  Developing and executing a strategic roadmap for information management, including evaluation and implementation.
    • Engaging with departments to identify technology-driven solutions and implement innovations and fostering collaboration and remove barriers to achieve organizational goals.
    • Implementing data governance policies to ensure data integrity and compliance. This includes defining data ownership, definition, process validation, access controls, and quality standards.

 

  • Ensuring compliance with data regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Including those set forth by regulatory bodies such as Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Organ Procurement Transplantation Network (OPTN), Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA).
    • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to develop robust policies and procedures.
    • Ensure timely response to standard operating procedure (SOP) modifications and compliance, corrective action / preventive action (CAPA), and ongoing competencies and quality improvement projects.

 

  • Leading, guiding, and mentoring team members toward successful execution of work processes to achieve mission and goals, as well as professional development.
  • Directing work planning, scheduling, managing time sheets, time off requests, expense reports, etc.,

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to 15 years of information system management, data governance, and data analysis.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience is required.
  • Healthcare or OPO industry experience is preferred.
  • Advanced degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to drive results to improve processes, automation, and outcomes with the use of critical thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities.
  • In-depth understanding of information systems, technology infrastructure, and data management principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data security practices, and technologies, ensuring the protection of sensitive information, compliance with regulations, and mitigation of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Proven track record in IT project management, successfully leading projects from initiation to completion within budget and timeline constraints
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices, including rapid response and familiarity with Security Operations Center (SOC) or SaaS security applications (such as Artic Wolf).
  • In-depth knowledge of data analytics, including proficiency in data analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies, to extract actionable insights from large datasets and support informed decision-making.
  • Expertise in Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft CRM (Customer Relations Management), SharePoint, SQL Server, Power BI, and Database tools, Intune, MDM, security protocols including MFA, encryption, and layered security.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Proven ability to establish priorities, coordinate internal and external resources, and achieve measurable results against goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be an organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and motivated contributor to effectively lead and execute reasonable and sound decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of quality, integrity, and honor confidentiality of appropriate information including, personal team member data, organizational operations or work processes, donor and donor family information, contributor details, any financial information and medical or protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Must be able to travel within the service area (MN, ND, SD) and occasionally to national events and meetings.
