Pay Range: $22.50- $23.87/hr 

Job Summary:

Established local manufacturer and wholesale company is looking for a Sales/ Customer Service Representative to join our sales team at in our Salem, OR location. This position will deal directly with our existing and prospective customers on a daily basis and will report to the General Manager.

Job Summary:

The Sales/Customer Service Representative is responsible for fostering strong relationships with both existing and prospective customers. This role involves actively selling the company’s products and services, while also providing a high level of customer support. The representative will engage with customers to address their inquiries and assist in effectively resolving any issues, ensuring a positive and lasting customer experience.

Customer Service Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
  • Collects and enters quotes and orders for new or additional products or services.
  • Fields customer questions and complaints; when the issue is beyond the representative’s knowledge, forwards to the assigned specialist or other appropriate staff.
  • Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customers’ problems and concerns.
  • Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Sales Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Provides input to the sales team and takes part in sales team planning & forecasts.
 
Position Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Fencing materials knowledge, a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
