SUMMARY

Under the leadership of the VP of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the recruitment of open positions at Opportunity Village, which could include screening, interviewing, and recommending prospective applicants for employment. This role oversees, in partnership, the implementation of strategic and compliant recruitment and retention concepts, practices, and procedures. The Talent Acquisition Specialist works alongside additional HR team members to successfully onboard all new hires and create a welcoming new hire experience. This may include facilitating part of the onboarding and orientation processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Recruit through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for qualified applicants, including screening, interviewing, and ensuring completion of the background check, drug test, and onboarding processes when hired.
  2. Manage requisitions, provide hiring manager updates, and report on applicant status throughout the process.
  3. Work with leadership to ensure timely awareness of current and future workforce needs and implement improvements to the hiring process, including sourcing and selection.
  4. Perform initial review of applications to determine qualified candidates and forward applications to the hiring managers after prescreening is complete.
  5. Place postings, conduct and participate in job fairs, and lead internal recruiting events.
  6. Facilitate panel interviews and individual department panels as required by department needs.
  7. Conduct training and provide education to hiring managers on the use of the ATS and market trends
  8. Process position request forms for newly approved promotions and transfers as needed.
  9. Partner with hiring managers for seasonal hiring needs.
  10. Post and close jobs in the ATS and on external websites.
  11. Perform regular job description analysis to assist with recruitment needs.
  12. Extend offers of employment as requested by hiring managers for desirable candidates.
  13. Ensure all pre-employment, background checks and onboarding documents are completed before the new hire's start date.
  14. Initiate all new hire profiles.
  15. Work with HR teammates on conversion, production, and compliance with all team member file maintenance.
  16. Maintain and display the highest level of integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of human resources.
  17. Work with external search firms or placement agencies to develop and maintain highly qualified candidates as needed.
  18. Participate in departmental and organizational meetings and training as required at multiple campus locations.
  19. Support other HR functional areas as needed, i.e., EngageOV, Open Enrollment, etc.
  20. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
  21. Perform all other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Computer literate; proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and customer database software.
  • Ability to work independently and remain on task in a sometimes loud or distracting environment.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of data across multiple systems and successfully report out to others regarding the data.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with candidates and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Display a high level of integrity and professionalism; creative, flexible, and resourceful.
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner and ensure confidentiality is of the highest priority in all aspects of duties performed and all communications, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, process requests, and problem-solve with a level of resourcefulness.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise directions and instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required: High school diploma required.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or three (3) years of verifiable work experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in recruitment.

Required: One (1) year of experience working with an Applicant Tracking System.

Preferred: Knowledge of State and Federal Laws governing Human Resource policies.

Preferred: Previous experience managing the recruitment process for a midsize company.

Preferred: Previous experience working with Paycom, E-Verify, and Federal Contacts.

Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.

Preferred: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities.
