Job Title: IT Manager

Reports to Title: CFO

Location: Chicago Illinois, USA

Date: 4/24/2024

Compensation: Grade: 4 - $82,000.00-$100,000.00

 

 

Job Summary:

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's information technology infrastructure, systems, and services. This role involves managing day-to-day IT operations, implementing technology solutions to support business objectives, and ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT environment. As a member of the management team, the IT Manager participates in the strategic planning and budgeting process.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of data and systems.
  • Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, servers, and telecommunications systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users, resolving IT issues in a timely and efficient manner; ensure service support in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and develop technology solutions to support operational efficiency and growth.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions, software applications, and IT tools to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and drive innovation. Develop and implement plans for new project implementation.
  • Develop configuration and performance standards; implement and monitor controls to ensure such maintenance; develop and maintain a disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring the organization's IT systems are resilient and can quickly recover from disruptions or outages.
  • Manage the organization's IT equipment inventory, including computers, servers, peripherals, and other hardware assets. Track asset details, such as serial numbers, specifications, and warranty information, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping in the asset management system.
  • Coordinate the procurement and purchasing of IT hardware, software, and services, following established procurement policies and budgetary guidelines. This includes identifying technology needs, obtaining quotes from vendors, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts to secure the best value for the organization.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers, negotiating contracts, monitoring service levels, and ensuring compliance with SLAs and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of changing trends, developments, and regulations in information technology by attending conferences, participating in professional networks, and pursuing relevant certifications as needed.
  • Demonstrate commitment to GFN’s core values on a daily basis.

Position Requirements
  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or equivalent education or experience in related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in cloud-based applications
  • Minimum of three years managerial experience with supervising people
  • Strong technical expertise across a range of IT disciplines, including networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
  • Experience with IT project management methodologies and tools.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Proficiency in Excel, other MS Office Suite applications, Adobe, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing technology projects, delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Proactive and results-oriented; contribute to improving policies and procedures for the program or work function.
