Come join the Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) team! We have a current opening for a customer focused Senior Vice President (SVP) of Membership. This position holds a pivotal leadership role in driving membership growth, engagement, and retention. Lead efforts to expand OFN's membership base, enhance member value, and cultivate strategic partnerships to advance OFN's mission. Play a key role in deeply understanding our members and their needs through continuous interactions and dialogue. This is a highly visible and influential role within the community development financial institutions (CDFI) industry, working closely with the Chief Network Officer to achieve membership objectives and strengthen OFN's impact.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive membership growth strategy aligned with OFN's mission and objectives, targeting community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and other community lenders committed to community development.

  • Lead a membership team in acquiring new members and retaining existing members through targeted outreach, relationship-building, and marketing campaigns.

  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders to identify key membership needs and opportunities for engagement and collaboration in the community development finance sector.

  • Utilize data analytics and member feedback to assess member satisfaction, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making to continuously improve membership offerings.

  • Develop new member benefits and services tailored to the needs of CDFIs, enhancing value and relevance of OFN membership.

  • Engage in continuous member outreach and interactions to understand evolving needs, challenges, and priorities of our member organizations.

  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including CDFIs, investors, government agencies, and community partners, to enhance OFN's visibility, influence, and impact.

  • Represent OFN at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote membership, share insights, and facilitate networking opportunities for members.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on membership growth, engagement metrics, and strategic recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the CRM database by overseeing data entry processes, conducting regular audits, and implementing best practices for data management.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field or 5-7 years of direct work experience in lieu of a degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in membership development, management, or related roles within the community development finance sector, nonprofit organizations, or financial services industry.

  • Proven track record of successful membership growth, engagement, and retention in a membership-based organization.

  • Strong understanding of community development finance, CDFIs, impact investing, and economic development.

  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and strategic planning skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders in the nonprofit and financial sectors.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate industry insights into actionable membership initiatives that drive impact.

  • Proficiency in membership management software, CRM systems, and data analytics tools.

  • Excellent written communication skills including ability to develop and write original communications, reports, as well as deliver succinct presentations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.

  • Digital literacy and ability to navigate workplace technology.

  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 15% of time).

  • No extraordinary physical requirements beyond ability to travel.

  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
