Are you looking for a part-time job where you get to work great hours in a friendly environment? The COA is looking for a substitute receptionist for its Three Rivers Enrichment Center with a guarantee of working at least one day a week. The job would entail welcoming older adults coming to the center for activities, handling cash and answering the phone.


General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, creates a positive first impression for anyone coming into the building. Provides excellent customer service during interactions with seniors, co-workers and other citizens when they enter the building and when answering incoming calls. This position is key in recognizing and resolving concerns with any customer and addressing any housekeeping issue that detracts from the appearance of the Enrichment Center.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  1. Answers incoming telephone calls in a friendly and upbeat tone of voice; determines person, office or information desired; responds to questions or directs calls to appropriate person or transmits messages as requested.

 

  1. Greets all people coming into the Enrichment Center in a positive and friendly way. Receives visitors and guests and directs them to appropriate staff, offices or other locations as requested. Develops and maintains relationships with seniors through telephone and personal contacts.

 

  1. Receives concerns from any person at the Enrichment Center, acknowledging the concern, apologizing for the perceived issue and identifying the follow up that will take place.

 

  1. Provides clerical assistance to seniors and co-workers as requested.

 

  1. Sorts, processes and delivers any incoming mail delivered to the Enrichment Center.

 

  1. Takes reservations from seniors for various activities, events or functions happening at the Enrichment Center and generates guest counts for programs and shares information with the Life Enrichment Manager.

 

  1. Distribute restaurant and special event tickets to seniors.

 

  1. Offers a tour to any person coming into the Enrichment Center, providing information and services about the Commission on Aging and the activity programs scheduled.

 

  1. Assists seniors with setting up and renewing memberships

 

  1. Prepare coffee and water service daily for lobby and maintain throughout each day.

 

  1. Logs activity attendance information into CareVantage, as requested.

 

  1. Performs daily housekeeping tasks. Frequently checks cleanliness of all bathrooms at the Enrichment Center (sinks, toilets, mirrors and door handles).

 

  1. Completes end-of-day cash-out and prepares monthly deposit.

 

  1. Performs other duties as required.

 

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the above tasks. (These examples do not include all of the tasks which the employees may be expected to perform.)

 
Position Requirements

Employment Qualifications:

 

Education: High school graduation or equivalent.

 

Experience: Some prior receptionist experience desirable.

 

Other Requirements:

 

  • Passion for working with seniors
     
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
     
  • Detail oriented work and high standard for cleanliness
     
  • Ability to operate copy machine and other office equipment
