Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is a Lasallian Vincentian Catholic, co-educational college preparatory secondary school located in the heart of San Francisco, California. We provide academically rigorous, vibrant learning grounded in social justice and student centered pedagogy. Our entire community is committed to cultivating each student's unique talents and passions, providing myriad opportunities for students to discern and realize their individual intellectual, artistic, athletic, social, and spiritual potential. SHC is a San Francisco Archdiocesan High School that is cosponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, District of San Francisco New Orleans and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

POSITION TITLE: Outreach Manager
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Admissions & Enrollment
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time Regular
EFFECTIVE DATE: April 2024
COMPENSATION: $70,000-74,000 per annum

Position Summary:

The Outreach Manager is a mission-driven professional with a deep passion for Catholic secondary education. The Outreach Manager collaborates with the SHC Admissions Team to contribute to a comprehensive, year-round admissions program for all prospective students (pre-high students, transfer students, international students). The Outreach Manager actively represents SHC in the greater Bay Area both formally and informally and cultivates relationships with a myriad of critical stakeholders such as prospective students, prospective parents, school principals, placement counselors, and community partners. The Outreach Manager facilitates all summer learning at SHC including the SHC Summer Institute for pre-high students as well as the SHC Summer School for current high school students. The Outreach Manager contributes to a shared vision of creating a current and future student body that advances the Lasallian Vincentian Catholic mission of SHC. The Outreach Manager is a key contributor on the SHC Institutional Advancement Team and reports to the Director of Admissions & Enrollment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Mission

  • Invest in the mission of SHC and the charisms of the Daughters of Charity and De La Salle Christian Brothers through active mission and Catholic formation

  • Provide exemplary personal and professional presence throughout the San Francisco and greater Bay Area community and actively promote SHC's mission, philosophy, and brand among all current and future stakeholders

  • Model integrity, spiritual focus, ethical behavior, fiscal responsibility and managerial excellence in support of the mission of SHC

Student Outreach & Admissions Programming

  • Develop and implement an aggressive partner school visit and presentation program with Catholic, private, and public partner schools in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area

  • Maximize SHC's presence at Bay Area high school fairs and other community events

  • Serve as an active and accessible liaison with all partner schools, both elementary and secondary

  • Assist in the facilitation of short and long term strategies around improving admissions practices to enhance the diversity, equity, and inclusion of SHC's student body

  • Assists in the recruitment and training of SHC Student Ambassadors and the Student Ambassador Leadership Team and invite and oversee their participation in SHC Admissions programs and events

  • Participate in select on-campus outreach programming and events including Irish for a Day, Open House, and Parent Visits & Socials

  • Lead small group and individual parent tours on campus as necessary

  • Facilitate select on-campus outreach programming including Performances & Showcases and Vincentian Connections Day

  • Manage and grow participation in the SHC Winter Institute

  • Manages and actively grows student and family engagement though SHC admissions social media accounts

  • Manage and grow summer learning opportunities at SHC especially among pre-high students who participate in the Summer Institute and high school students who participate in the SHC Summer School

Application Administration

  • Serve as a primary member of the SHC admissions committee, reading 300+ applications and providing valuable input in the 8th grade admissions decision making process

  • Facilitate all aspects of the administration of the annual High School Placement Test including ordering materials, securing proctors, and messaging to families

  • Actively contribute to the annual Admissions Team calendar of programming, projects, and events

  • Assist with other Admissions, Enrollment, and Institutional Advancement projects as deemed necessary

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be a mission-driven individual with a deep passion for Catholic secondary education

  • Must be highly organized, motivated, high-energy, self-starter, and work well within a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working in admissions and/or a college preparatory environment preferred

  • Passion for building diverse and inclusive communities

  • Ability and appetite to implement thoughtful solutions in the areas of admissions programming

  • Enthusiasm for engaging and managing middle and high school-age students, supporting prospective parents and collaborating with SHC faculty and staff

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; pleasant, warm demeanor

  • Must show a high level of initiative and follow through with the ability to work independently

  • Strong organizational and project management

  • Effective decision making skills

  • Detail-oriented, flexible, strong work ethic

  • Experience in customer service or sales

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a diverse, inclusive work environment

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office products, Google Applications, mail merge tools, databases, WordPress and social media

  • Commitment to ongoing education, professional growth, and mission formation

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft software applications, Google/Gmail and internet usage, and; database management preferred
