Position Summary

At Third Coast, we offer an exceptional internship program that provides students with the chance to gain meaningful, practical work experience in a dynamic environment. Our interns collaborate with seasoned professionals in a high-energy, professional setting, allowing them to leverage the knowledge and skills acquired through their education in a real-world business context. This internship presents a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the operations of a chemical plant and acquire invaluable industry experience.

The program is designed to offer a comprehensive insight into the chemical industry, supported by experienced mentors who will guide you through a journey of professional growth and hands-on learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the activities of the Reactions Department to monitor and contribute to ongoing projects.
  • Conduct routine engineering tasks, applying fundamental engineering principles under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Support your mentor with daily responsibilities and project execution.
  • Undertake assigned projects, working diligently under your mentor's supervision.
  • Actively participate in our department's and plant's safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Gain an understanding of reaction processes and equipment operations.
  • Collaborate with your mentor to deepen your knowledge of Chemical Manufacturing processes.
  • Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Candidates must possess a High School Diploma
  • Completed at least two years of college in an accredited chemical engineering program.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical acumen.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and teamwork orientation.
  • The capacity to interact professionally with personnel and management at all levels.

Physical Requirements

  • 60% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, walking and viewing.
  • 40% Plant setting, including, bending, walking, lifting/moving objects less than 25 lbs.
