Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist South Bend Police Department Maintenance Department with assigned duties.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: N/A

Pay Range: 15.00 hour

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm 12 weeks May-August

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for mowing, trimming, painting, hauling equipment, cleaning

· Assist Facility Operations Technicians in duties such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors when required

· Related South Bend Police Department maintenance duties as assigned

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

· Additional duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent education required.

· Maintenance experience preferred, but not necessary

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:

· Ability to operate required equipment.

· Ability to deal professionally with the public.

CERTIFICATES, LICENCE, REGISTRATION:

· Valid Driver's License required.

EQUIPMENT:

· Pickup truck, weed eater, hand mower, hand blower, 2-way radio, miscellaneous hand tools, painting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in office settings, with moderate inside temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office. Entire office is smoke free. Work performed in the garage setting can fluctuate in temperature. This job requires outside and inside work in a multitude of environmental temperatures.
