DXP | HSE Integrated is looking to hire an EMR for causal work in Regina,SK. A day in the life of an Emergency Medical Responder requires courage and compassion; facing diverse and interesting situations where you directly affect people’s lives by your actions.
Responsibilities
- Provide a quick response to medical emergencies in an industrial setting
- Assess and attend to patient’s injuries; determine a course of treatment
- Provide first-aid or support to injured workers
- Effectively communicate status and next steps of the injured worker to emergency services
- Clean and decontaminate vehicles (mobile treatment center) and/or clinic area and maintain areas in a state of operational/medical readiness
- Ensure all reporting and communication requirements are adhered to regarding incidents, injuries, and treatment
- Maintain confidential patient medical documentation and reports as per governing body requirements
Personal Characteristics
- Highly skilled and well known for bringing order to chaos; especially when patients are scared, in pain or shock from an injury.
- Caring yet take control type of personality. The ability to take a calm and logical approach to emergency situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Functional knowledge of computer operations, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Effectively organize and prioritize situations and activities ranging from urgent patient care issues to routine office and clinic duties
- Reliable, dependable, and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to travel via motor vehicle and air transport
Requirements
- Current (unrestricted) registration as an EMR with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Previous EMR experience
- Previous industrial experience is an asset
