Description

Hui Huliau, a Global Federal Government Contracting Firm, is seeking a Remote Staff Accountant in Georgia. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at minimum 2 years of related experience in accounting.The Staff Accountant is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents. Handles the company’s financial documentation, from recording transactions to preparing tax documents. Assists the Corporate Controller on ways to reduce expenses, and ensure the company operates within financial regulations to avoid penalties.

 

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain all balance sheet reconciliations and prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accuracy of GL accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with the company’s Cash Management/Treasury functions.
  • Manage the Company’s travel & expense system, including set up of new employees, perform accounting approval of expense reports, and assist employees with using the system.
  • Assist with timely and accurate financial reporting, compliant with company policies and procedures and U.S. GAAP of all entities.
  • Report to the company’s Controller and leadership team to provide monthly and quarterly updates.
  • Assist with the company’s financial statement preparation - individual and consolidated balance sheets and statements of operations and cash flow.
  • Play an integral role in the company’s monthly and quarterly closing, reconcile accounts, and code journal entries to the General Ledger.
  • Maintain positive interactions with external and internal auditors to ensure audit issues are investigated, resolved, and remediated where appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of General Technical Accounting, month end close, payroll, etc. is required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR/DFAR, and SBA 8(a) Program is plus.
  • Knowledge of various government contract award types, Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus, as well as labor rates, etc. are all pluses.
  • Ability to work and communicate well at all levels within the company.

 

*The position will be performed remotely Monday through Friday and will generally encompass a standard workweek spanning Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum two (2) to seven (7) years of relevant experience accounting, preferably in a Government Contracting environment.
  • Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus.
  • Experience with intercompany transactions, elimination journal entries and consolidation of multiple entities is plus.
  • Experience with DCAA & DCMA audits and reviews is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Predominantly Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office or home office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
  • Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
