Job Summary

Promote and enhance the mission of PK Management through crisis prevention plans, crisis response and relocation planning and implementing. Develop strong relationships with ownership representatives, general contractors, onsite management teams, and emergency response organizations. Assist the Crisis Management and Relocations Director in developing implementing and evaluating crisis response and prevention including working with large scale renovation project to assist residents with planning and preparation. This position operates within and contributes to an environment in compliance with Fair Housing laws and Equal Employment Opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Central point of contact for the Crisis Management and Relocation team
  • Develops Crisis Prevention Plans and Emergency Operations Plans for properties
  • Helps create Documented Strategies and Crisis Prevention Action Plans for new projects and initiatives
  • Liaison between construction teams, residents, property teams and ownership groups
  • Work with local, regional and national emergency response teams (Red Cross, FEMA, local officials, etc.)
  • Conduct In Home assessments for renovation projects
  • With the Director, will finalize plans for relocation accommodations (shelter, food, transportation, etc.)
  • Manage third party contractors (i.e., moving companies, cleaning services, etc.)
  • Address and de-escalate residents' conflicts or crisis
  • Complete reports by utilizing project management software
  • Identifies and coordinates special accommodations when necessary
  • Creates and manages damages reports
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the VP of Community Development; the Senior Director of Social Services/Community Development and/or immediate supervisor

  • Analytical Skills - ability to analyze construction schedule and project timelines to develop reports, presentations, statements, and other communications.
  • Communication/Language Skills - ability to communicate with residents, corporate staff, site staff and external agencies, strong verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, Internet, and project management software including Happy Co. and Smartsheet.
  • Coordinating Skills - ability to coordinate communications across departments, ownership groups, construction teams, and community organizations.
  • Creative Skills - a strategically creative thinker that has the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership Skills - ability to develop a relationship with site staff and community organizations; ability to initiate projects.
  • Mathematical Skills - ability to use basic math skills in monthly reports and budgeting.
  • Other Skills - Autonomy, Confidentiality, Crisis Management, Customer Service, Initiative, Interpersonal Skills, Patience, Professionalism, Teamwork.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed at renovations sites, but will include some working in an office environment. Walking, sitting or standing will be required depending on the activity. It may be necessary to lift up to 40 pounds depending on activity. Travel will be necessary and could include up to %85 travel for renovations or emergency situations. If an emergency arises, travel may be required on short notice.
