Summary
Develops Engineering and manufacturing knowledge through real-world application. Provides product support via process implementation and improvement assistance to the Manufacturing Engineering group through the duties highlighted below as assigned and directly supervised by an Engineer.
Essential duties and responsibilities

- Develop Manufacturing Engineering knowledge and understanding in a real-world environment by applying classroom skills and experience to aerospace manufacturing problems.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with production line setup, process improvement, tool/fixture development and troubleshooting.
- Learn manufacturing processes in detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involve manufacturing engineers for assistance to correct problems.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and clear documentation that proves manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate the 8 wastes in the production process.
- Perform other tasks and projects that are responsibilities of the manufacturing engineering department. These tasks and projects may be coordinated directly through any member of the manufacturing engineering group.

Education and Experience
- Currently in the process of completing a four-year engineering degree.
- 0-3 years of related experience preferred.
- Experience with solid modeling (preferably Creo) preferred but not required.
- Experience with mechanics, heat transfer/FEA, electromechanical and/or aerospace design, or lighting would be advantageous but not required. Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Competently use Microsoft products, have knowledge of material planning system, and general computer skills.

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to identify problems, deal with them, and work towards a solution.
Physical Demands *
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to pull handles and push buttons. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Compensation
$21 per hour
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
