Description

Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our team,

specializing in inside sales targeting the State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED) sector. This role primarily focuses on generating new business opportunities, responding to public sector bids, and collaborating closely with our RFP (Request for Proposal) team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a

keen understanding of the SLED market, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. SLED Business Growth:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the State, Local, and Higher Education sector.
    • Develop and execute strategies to expand our market presence and increase revenue streams.
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through targeted research and outreach efforts.

  1. Public Sector Bids and RFP Management:
    • Respond to public sector bids and requests for proposals in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Collaborate closely with the RFP team to ensure that responses meet client requirements and align with company objectives.
    • Manage the end-to-end bid process, including proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations.
  2. Inside Sales Support:
    • Provide sales support to the outside sales team by identifying and qualifying leads within the SLED market.
    • Assist in the development of sales presentations, proposals, and other collateral materials.
    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients as needed.
  3. Market Research and Analysis:
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the SLED sector.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and areas for growth.
    • Use market insights to inform strategic decision-making and refine sales approaches.
  4. Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, procurement officers, and decision-makers within the SLED sector.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance and support throughout the sales process.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional responses to all communications.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven track record of success in inside sales, business development, or a related role, preferably within the SLED sector.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, including bidding and contracting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) preferred.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position based in Ohio. Occasional travel may be required to attend client meetings, industry events, or training sessions. The successful candidate will receive competitive compensation, including a base salary plus commission, along with opportunities for professional development and advancement within the company.
